The Arak–Malayer–Kermanshah railway project, spanning 321 Km, establishes a vital rail connection between Iran’s western provinces and Tehran, integrating these regions into the national railway network. This connection is expected to drive economic, social, and cultural development across a significant portion of western Iran, while also reducing cargo transportation costs and enhancing passenger safety and comfort.

Moreover, the completion of this Western Railway will facilitate international rail communication between Iran and Iraq via the Khosravi border crossing.
